Recorder and Quaver

Everyone's favorite time of year is back! RECORDER TIME!

All jokes aside, the recorder is a great woodwind instrument that helps kids connect their music theory knowledge with a music instrument. They are refining their hand eye coordination and expanding their learning to both sides of their brain. They can really begin to read the music on the page and make sense of all of the elements we have been practicing over their years here.

The site we have been using for much of our curriucular resources is Quaver Music. These fun and well animated pieces of repertoire are highly engaging and quite rigorous for these young players. Below you will see a short video of them cheering on little Timmy, as he makes his way across the floor to a giant bowl of ice cream. It's videos like these that take the pressure off of playing perfectly and make it a fun and safe concept to learn.

ENJOY!
