In our current reading/writing/social studies unit, students worked on sequencing steps in order in non-fiction reading and writing. Students first learned how to read a timeline when doing research on a person for Black History Month. They then were asked to create a timeline of their life. Students picked 5 events that were important to them in their lives. They then worked with a grownup at home to find pictures to go with their timeline. Students learned how to put their events in chronological order and assemble a timeline. They were so excited to share their timelines with their classmates and were proud to have these displayed for parent teacher conferences!
