Flex Farm is a hydroponic system that offers a flexible solution that can adapt to various growing scenarios. Sixth graders are learning the benefits of using a Flex Farm over a more traditional farming approach. Some of these benefits include: no soil (less mess), fast growth, eco-friendly, etc. We began planting our lettuce seeds in the rockwool this week and set up the farm by placing each pod in the holes.
We have also been exploring various careers in flex farming that play a role in leveraging technology and innovation in agriculture. For example, some of these careers include: data scientist, precision agriculture specialist, farm management software developer, etc. Flex farming keeps evolving therefore there will continue to be new career opportunities. We are excited to learn more about hydroponics this year!
