Hockey, Hockey, Hockey

I love hockey.  It is fun to watch, fun to play, and the skills are different than many of the other skills we use throughout the year, which makes it an exciting, new challenge for us!

We started our hockey unit last week where we spent several classes working on stick handling, passing, shooting and goalie skills.  Now we are playing games, games, games!

They gym is transformed into 3 hockey rinks and the class is divided into 6 teams.  We do a round robin style of games so each team can face off against all the other teams throughout the class.  The kids get lots of action raising those heart rates and everyone leaves sweating!
