Plant Buddies

One of our favorite things to do in kindergarten is spend time with our 6th grade buddies. Once a week, we get to spend time with our buddies. This week for buddies, the students worked together to make a plant buddy. For this, the buddies took a cup where they added on googly eyes, a pom pom nose, and a smile. Inside the cup, they added soil and grass seeds that will grow and become the hair for their plant buddy. The kindergarteners will use these in science in the coming weeks to gather information about what plants need to grow and observe them in their different growth periods. Although we won't be able to see the outcomes immediately, it will be something fun for the kindergarteners and 6th graders to observe together when they meet each time.
