Earth Day

Earth Day is an annual celebration that honors the achievements of the environmental movement and raises awareness of the need to protect the Earth's natural resources for future generations. Today, we enjoyed many activities to contribute to the global Earth Day efforts.

Our day began with the read aloud of The Lorax. We discussed how the Lorax was trying to do his part by working to save the trees. Then, we had a lot of fun making mustaches to match the Lorax.

We worked together as a class to escape the digital breakout by solving the clue below. Through this activity, we learned that we should take action to help protect our Earth and discussed many ways that we could help.

Our favorite activity of the day was the Earth Day Nature Hunt. We worked with a partner to explore the beauty of nature while finding trees, leaves, flowers, worms, birds, and many other parts of nature. The students decided that the trash, papers, and wrappers left around were not as beautiful and could harm the plants and animals.
