At Goodrich, we have College and Career Fridays. On these days, every classroom has some flexibility to teach about colleges or careers how they see fit for their grade level. The upper grades often research different colleges, while the younger grades focus on exposing students to different types of career paths. We have been fortunate this year to have parent volunteers that are willing to share their time with us to teach students about different careers!
Throughout this year we've had parent volunteers come in and talk to our students about their career. We focus on what schooling is required to get that job, what is expected of them in a career like this, and what sort of interests they have that made them interested in pursuing that particular career. We've had a range of multiple different careers so far this year, and are looking forward to a few more presentations for the year!
The students love that their parents are involved, and we love the exposure they're getting to the "real world!"
