Community Helpers
Ms. Kilkenny’s Pre-K class is learning about Community Helpers. What are Community Helpers? They are people who have jobs that help us in Woodridge. We learned all about Firefighters, Doctors, Dentists and even Police Officers.
Our new School Resource Officer, Officer Calero, came to our classroom and read us a story and told us how he helps keep Woodridge safe. Thank you Officer Calero!
We also learned that Chefs are also Community Helpers. Who cooks the food at a restaurant? A Chef. Then we tried out that job and made a delicious fruit salad.
Who is going to chop all of this fruit? The Pre- K Chefs will.
A Chef has to do a lot of work to get the food ready to be eaten at a restaurant.
Finally, all the fruit was chopped and ready to be eaten.
And they ate it all up! I think they were fantastic Chefs!
