This week in First Grade we met some very special people…
This year we will work with our Fifth Grade buddies on projects, learning new games and new learning opportunities.
Today after recess, my students came into the classroom buzzing with excitement because they saw their Fifth Grade Buddy at recess. I even had a Fifth Grader come find me at recess because he didn’t see his First Grade buddy and wanted to make sure she was okay. I love the relationships and leaders that we are seeing develop as we begin this new adventure together.
Our First activity was to make a Time Capsule with our buddies so we could mark the moment we met in time and revisit at the end of the school year. The fifth graders were excellent models and helpers and the First Graders did an amazing job asking questions and engaging with their new friends!
We can’t wait to go on this journey together all year. We can’t wait until next week when we get to work with the Fifth Graders again!
