New Year Reflection

The past week second graders have spent time reflecting on 2019 and setting goals for 2020. They were able to see where they started in 2019, which was hard for them to believe they were in first grade at that time and set goals where they want to go for the following year. Students worked hard on their goals, setting both personal and school related.

Second graders also enjoyed sharing their reflections and new goals with their peers and found themselves adding to their current goals. This activity was also a great way to start off the new year in a positive way. We had discussions about things that we could improve on both personally and as a class to create a better classroom environment and be more productive in our learning.

Students also noticed that activity was able to connect to our poetry unit. Students are learning that there are different types of poems and some may have specific sentence stems that they start with.
