Celebrating Family Near and Far

The school was invited to quite a treat from the 5th and 6th grade chorus members today.  They performed multiple songs as part of their, "Celebrating Family Near and Far" show.  The dedication of Miss Clark and the students was truly on display today.  These students have only 25 minutes each week to work on perfecting the songs as a grade level, and only one practice as a combined 5th and 6th grade chorus.

The students sang songs from Israel, Africa, Mexico, and the United States.  While the beautiful singing is the focal point of the concert, it also included choreographed dancing and the playing of different instruments such as tubanos, bell chimes, jingle bells, and egg shakers.

Each year I feel as though the students have outdone their previous performances.  What I have learned, and come to expect, is that the students always come together to give their very best for their Chorus teacher, Miss Clark.  She puts her heart and soul into her work, and the students do their best to make her, and everyone else proud.  It is such a wonderful tradition at Goodrich School, and one that I am so happy to have a small part in.
