Ms. Kilkenny's Pre-k class and Trees

What is Ms. Kilkenny's Pre-K learning about?

  TREES!

Now that Fall is here, the Pre-K students are studying all about trees!  We took a walk
around Goodrich to see all the different trees there are. When the students found a tree they liked,
we took their picture with their tree. 
In a few weeks we will take a walk around the school again and see if their tree has changed.

Shhhh...don’t tell them!

   
    

 We are noticing how tall or wide trees are.

We are learning all about the parts of trees like leaves and sticks and nuts. 
We collected these parts and put them in our Sensory table.  

We are also working on our cutting skills, too.

  

On our walk around Goodrich, we found lots of walnuts 

that we were able to use our senses to explore.

  Are they rough or smooth? 

What do they smell like?

How many did we find? 

We also learned how to paint trees at the Easel.

Next week we are going to learn about all of the different foods that come from trees
and make some yummy applesauce.

Whew!  That is a lot to learn about trees.
