Explore Board Fun!

One thing we have loved about starting new units is starting with explore boards! Explore boards give students a chance to look through the material before having to learn it. We have done this for fiction units, non-fiction units, and holidays. One of my favorites has been the Martin Luther King Jr. explore board.

On the explore board, we include articles, interactive activities, and games for students to build knowledge on the topic. This allows students to work at their own pace, while getting more acquainted with the material. As we go through the explore board, students are tasked with writing down new facts. We share with our table team afterwards to ensure everyone has new material to write.

An example explore board- thank you to the creator!
