Art with Ms. Huber

I am so excited to share that for the rest of this month (January), our endangered animal paintings are on display at the Woodridge Public Library on the second floor!

Our fifth graders at both Goodrich and Meadowview spent many weeks planning, practicing, creating, and researching an endangered animal. Students used materials such as watercolors, markers, crayons, colored pencils, construction paper, scissors and glue.

Research was done through WWF a website which has a directory of animals endangered, threatened, and even vulnerable. These animals had quality photos and information about what could be done to support each and every one of these animals.

I loved seeing them all on display and the success stories of each and every student. This was a difficult and time consuming project that deserved to be shown off! This was also a mature topic for our fifth graders and they did a wonderful job focusing on the positives.

And on another positive note, I will have this same opportunity to display art in this space in April too!
