Why doesn’t the Gingerbread Man want to cross the river? That question set Ms. Kilkenny’s Pre-K class on a quest to investigate what would happen if he got wet We did a science experiment to see, and we found out that he would “DISSOLVE”. There were many good guesses by the students, some thought he couldn’t swim, or that there were sharks in the river, or maybe even an alligator, I mean we are the Goodrich Gators after all.
We also read many different versions of the story and compared and contrasted what was the same and different in each story. In the Art Center we had fun making gingerbread cookies with special gingerbread playdoh.
Those play doh cookies looked so yummy that we decided to bake our very own gingerbread cookies.
We mixed the dough.
Put in the pan
And decorated him with raisins and put him in the oven.
But, when we looked in the oven-he was gone! Luckily he left us some clues to search for him all over the school and we finally found him back in our classroom.
We had a tasty snack that day.
