Drop the Rock

We have enjoyed our first few weeks of Kindergarten and 6th Grade Learning Buddies! We started out by getting to know each other through a fun interview. We learned that even though we are at different parts of our elementary school journeys, we still have so much in common. The next week, we worked together to complete a craft of a character we were reading about in kindergarten. This week, with some warm weather, we decided to get outside. We played an exciting game with our buddies called Drop the Rock. In this game the group lines up with their hands behind their back facing the finish line. One person stands behind the group with the rock (eraser, small counting bear, domino, etc). They secretly drop the rock in someone’s hand. When they feel the rock dropped in their hand that person runs across the field to the finish line. As soon as the person with the rock in their hands takes off, the others must react quickly to try to tag them before they get to the finish line. We had so much fun learning this game and playing with our classmates and 6th grade buddies!
