The Possibilities are Endless

Last Friday was a day of exploration for our fifth graders as they were treated to not one, but two career visits, courtesy of members of the Goodrich family. These experiences offered our students  insights into different professions, broadening their horizons about future possibilities.

The first session featured a visit from Mrs. Perry, a nurse and parent of one of our fifth graders. Mrs. Perry not only shared her personal journey as a nurse but also brought the world of healthcare to life by bringing common medical equipment. Our students had the opportunity to handle and closely examine tools, like stethoscopes, while learning how to check their pulse and oxygen levels. Mrs. Perry encouraged questions, allowing the students to gain a deeper understanding of the nursing profession. We truly appreciate Mrs. Perry taking the time to teach and inspire the students.

In the afternoon, the excitement continued with Mr. Kaddoura's visit. Mr. Kaddoura, the brother of our sixth-grade teacher, Ms. Kaddoura, delved into his career as a professional gamer, specializing in the world-renowned video game "League of Legends." He shared his remarkable journey to becoming a professional gamer. Mr. Kaddoura highlighted the important role of education in shaping his path and emphasized the significance of teamwork in his line of work. As part of a competitive gaming team, his reputation as a dependable team player has led to numerous opportunities and achievements. Our students were thoroughly engaged and left with a deeper appreciation for the world of competitive gaming.

These career visits have undoubtedly enriched our students' perspectives on future possibilities, emphasizing the significance of both education and teamwork in pursuing their dreams. We thank Mrs. Perry and Mr. Kaddoura for their invaluable contributions in inspiring the next generation of professionals.
