At Goodrich, one thing we take pride in is our use of collaborative learning. We utilize the Kagan Cooperative Learning structures so that students are getting many opportunities to engage with one another throughout the day.
In kindergarten, we are learning the foundations of these structures slowly throughout the year so that students may continue to utilize and build off of them throughout their time at Goodrich. The structure that we focused on this week was one called "Quiz, Quiz, Trade". For this, students have a skill they are practicing on a card. They find a partner and then quiz them on the fact they are sharing. When they are done, they trade and find a new partner. We used this structure to practice letter and number identification. The kids did great with sharing their knowledge and even coaching each other with their facts and structure components.
We look forward to using this more moving forward!
