One of my favorite things about being a P.E. teacher is that my class is a place where teamwork and cooperative learning comes naturally. Everyday, students have to work together to achieve a goal. Plus, depending on the activity, space, or equipment available, they also have to take turns. (Very big deal at the elementary level!) This requires them to follow a series of directions and to be patient when it is not their turn or to take a breath and figure how to be successful.
We started this year by doing Team Building Challenges, featured in the pictures below, and playing a variety of cooperative games. Every day in P.E. I encourage the students to do their best and the best way we can do that is by working together and to positively encourage one another.
I am so excited how the year has started off here in Goodrich PE! Can't wait for what's next!
