This week we started Badminton with our 3rd-6th graders. The younger grades are working on Paddle skills in the hopes of working our way to some modified Pickle Ball activities.
One of my favorite things about Badminton is that many of the kids haven't really played this out of school which makes it extra exciting because it is not a common activity they would do on their own or at recess.
We have been working on a forehand serve and then moved on to actually trying to rally back and forth. The goal of our activity today was not to compete against their partner, but to work together in order to see how long they could keep the rally going. Each time they tried to beat their highest number.
There were lots of smiles and cheers throughout each class. The kids even left telling us they were sweaty - they had no idea that they could get such a workout from playing Badminton!
