Special Visitor in Kindergarten

Our friend, the Gingerbread man, has made a stop in Kindergarten this week! The Gingerbread man leaves us a note each morning to read along with a fun activity to do. Kindergarten will also be listening to various versions of the Gingerbread stories throughout the week.

Each morning, the Gingerbread man visits the Kindergarten rooms and leaves a note for the students. The note usually has some activity attached, such as candy cane hunts for sight words around the room. These notes keep us on our toes because we never know what the Gingerbread man is going to say or where he will move to in our room!

We have been reading various versions of the Gingerbread stories during our read-aloud time. These include The Gingerbread Man, The Gingerbread Boy, The Gingerbread Girl, The Gingerbread Baby, and The Gingerbread Cowboy. Kindergarten has loved reading various versions of this story and comparing them to find differences and similarities!

Kindergarten’s favorite activities so far have been hunting for candy cane sight words, creating our own Gingerbread Man and adding a speech bubble, and even designing our own gingerbread houses! The week is only halfway over and there is still so much fun to be had. Only time will tell what the Gingerbread Man has in store for these Kindergarten students.
