Second graders are in the middle of their opinion writing unit. They worked very hard creating a writing piece giving their opinion about what is their favorite season. Students first used a flow map to plan their writing. They had to think of an introduction sentence, their reasons why, transition words, and a conclusion sentence.
The next step was to write their paper stating what their opinion is. They have been working hard on proper paragraph structure and remembering to indent, start with uppercase letters, end with punctuation, and write in complete sentences.
Third came one of their favorite parts which was using tissue paper and other art supplies to create a tree that matched their season.
The final step, and another favorite of theirs, was to go on Flip and record themselves presenting their project.
