Second Grade Fun!

Students have been having a blast so far in second grade! We have spent a lot of time getting to know one another and building a positive classroom environment. We have done many team building and class building activities to create a positive learning environment where all students feel welcomed and accepted. Here are a few activities that we have done so far this year!

We have class meetings where students get a chance to learn about one another, celebrate the positives, and problem solve any issues we are having as a class. 

Students worked with their teams to create a team name and poster. They had to work together and come to a consensus on the name and what the poster looks like and in the process they got to find out that they have a lot in common with the people at their table. 

Students participated in a Find Someone Who activity where they went around with a paper to see if they could find classmates who like to do various things. It was once again a way for students to learn that a peer, who they maybe didn’t know very well before, has things common with them!  

I can’t wait to get to know this great group of students even better this year!
