As this year comes to an end, it comes the time to celebrate all the hard work we have done in 1st grade! Our last writing unit, from scenes to series, has students creating their own characters and writing a series of stories that go along with that character. The students had so much fun creating their characters and then creating an adventure their character was going on. From having their character take trips to California to having their character make homemade pizza, the ideas were endless! After they were done writing their story, they got the opportunity to create a cover for their stories. I was so impressed with the stories my students came up with, and the ability to create their own creative title for their stories.
Once students had a couple stories from their series finished, we decided to celebrate by getting to share our stories with Miss. Savaglio’s class. They were doing the same writing unit, and it was so exciting to hear about the adventures their characters went on while getting to share our own. They are so proud of their stories, and I am so proud of them!
