As we near the end of the school year, 6th graders are working on their most challenging art unit this year... One Point Perspective. One point perspective is essentially drawing 3 dimensional space in a measured out way, with converging angles towards a vanishing point. This drawing method creates the illusion of depth. We practice with drawing cubes, prisms, and other simple forms. Then we practice a 3Dimensional room together. Lastly, 6th grade chose their own subject for their final one point perspective drawing piece. They also got to choose the way they wanted to render their drawing. Some students chose watercolor paint, some markers, some colored pencils, and others chose to just shade theirs with a pencil in grayscale.
