College and Career Friday provides students with the opportunity to explore potential careers and discover ones they may not know even existed, as well as post-secondary education institutes. Before winter break, students took a career interest explorer assessment which matched them with potential future careers, such as teaching, business, social work, and engineering. Then, they chose one or two careers and researched the job description as well as the requirements (type of degree/schooling, years of experience, skills required, etc).
Last week in 4th grade, students created their own spirit-wear for the college and/or career of their choice. Students sketched their design on paper before using fabric markers and paint to create their t-shirt.
