We just wrapped up our tree unit.
We focused on a few things throughout the unit such as what are the characteristics of trees,
what lives in trees, what food comes from trees, how trees change, what we can make with
tree parts.
Our class enjoyed having an apple tasting. They tried three different colors of apples and
voted on which was their favorite.
Our class loved reading Chicka Chicka Boom Boom! We have a Chicka tree in our
classroom and they were able to put the first letter of their name on the tree. We also
did a craft where we made our own Chicka trees with the letters in their name at the top
of the tree.
We also read a book called Leaf Man who blows all over in the wind. Then we made
our own leaf men by choosing a leaf for their head, body, arms, and legs.
We also talked about how trees look different and change at different times of the year.
We noticed trees around our school are changing color and dropping leaves when
we went on a tree scavenger hunt last week.
Our class loved learning about trees!
