Open House is a day that I look forward to each year. It is an opportunity for current students to show off all of their hard work as well as a chance to see both past and future students.
The fifth graders were excited to show off their food webs that they recently worked on in Science class. We learned about different habitats, symbiotic relationships, and how scientists use food chain and food webs to show the interdependence of organisms. In Social Studies, the students looked more in depth at the different causes of the American Revolution. Students had a choice on which cause they wanted to research as well as how they wanted to present their findings. The products turned out great and were on display for parents and students to see.
Open House also provides a chance to catch up with former students. It is so rewarding to see how much they have grown and matured since leaving Goodrich. It reaffirms just how strong the relationships formed here at our school truly are. We are so proud of all the great things that former students had to share with us. It was also fun to see and talk to future fifth graders. It was exciting for them to see a glimpse into what next year has in store for them.
Overall, Open House was a hit! It is the perfect way to end 3rd quarter and kick off Spring Break.
