Mural Design and Artistic Teamwork

Shows teamwork !

Students in 4th through 6th grades began the new school year in art class  painting a mural.  Students liked how they could come up with the image themselves and then work together with other students to create one big idea, or in this case one mural.  Each class produces a total of four murals, one for each table group.  They learned to create a harmonious design with simple repeated shapes that vary in size. Individually they sketch their idea, then share sketches and decide whether to either focus on one image or combine several student's ideas.

Collaboration involves decisions and students suggest that "being more social" or open to possibilities, versus saying "no!" too fast is a key to success.

Everyone has a voice.
Work with a partner.
 Execute the color scheme.
