Big Thoughts in Small Packages

In our writing, second graders have been seeing the world through special lenses.  We have learned how to see the world through the eyes of poets.  Students have been learning how to see with both their hearts and minds while writing about the world in a fresh and unusual way. Taking everyday things such as animals, shells, scissors, and staple removers, or activities they participate in, and viewing these things in an imaginative way through poetic verse.
