First grade is so excited to collaborate with a Jefferson Junior High visual arts and design class over the next couple of weeks for a monster project! For this project, first graders are creating their own original monsters that the junior high students will then recreate digitally on Canva. Our first graders will also be determining some characteristics of their monsters to share with their junior high counterparts. Along the way, both sets of students will be recording videos using Kami to provide information and updates about the monster.
This week, students designed their monsters and used a circle map to describe different characteristics of their monster. They were so excited to design a monster that was all their own! Some chose to make happy monsters, while others made monsters that were a little more scary than friendly. Hearing the buzz among the students as they were deciding how to make their monster look and act was amazing! Next week, we will record our first introduction videos and then send off our monsters to the junior high!
