Over the last few weeks, our Kindergarten classrooms buzzed with excitement as we welcomed some incredible community helpers. This week, we had the exciting opportunity to meet a firefighter and a police officer. These visits were not only a highlight for the students but also a memorable way to connect classroom learning with real-world experiences.
Before their visits, we spent time talking about what community helpers do and why their work is important. The students shared their ideas about how these helpers keep our community safe and strong. Armed with curiosity and a list of questions, they eagerly awaited their special visitors.
Our first guest was a firefighter and the parent of one of our students, Lieutenant Briones. The students learned about what he does on the job, how he responds to emergencies, and even got to see some of the special gear he wears to stay safe. The students were fascinated to learn that firefighters don’t just fight fires—they also help during medical emergencies and rescue operations!
Our guests made a meaningful impact on the students. Through their engaging stories, the children developed a stronger appreciation for these essential community roles. More importantly, they witnessed firsthand how these professionals use their skills to improve the world around them.
