It’s Fall Y’all and you know what that means? Time to dive into the world of
Pumpkins!
One of our fall scholastic news centered around pumpkins so we got a little carried
away with the whole pumpkin theme.
First, I brought in a pumpkin for the children to use their senses to describe it---little did they
know we were developing a list of adjectives to describe this pumpkin. I snuck this lesson
into our writing so that the children could add more adjectives to spice up their writing!
Then, we made a pumpkin bulletin board where the students designed their own
pumpkin and had to write adjectives to describe their pumpkin creation.
Next, we used that same pumpkin from our adjective activity and with the help of
Mrs. Sayre,
we did a How To writing assignment by sequentially turning our pumpkin
into a jack-o-lantern.
Finally, we worked with our 5th grade buddies and we wrote a poem together about
pumpkins.
The only thing we did not do with our pumpkin is eat it! Maybe next year!!!!!!!
