Welcome to the First Grade Puppy Pound!
The first few weeks of school create such buzz and excitement throughout the hallways of our school! (Maybe a little nervous energy, too!) Our school supplies are brand new, our classrooms are new, teachers and students are new to us, too! With all of the “new” things that are coming at us in August, it is nice to take some time to really get to know these peers and teachers that we will be spending the year with... starting now!
In First grade, we did a lot of activities during the first week of school that really allowed us to find things we have in common with each other. We even found a lot of things that make us unique, too.
Building relationships is very important in my classroom. I want students to feel a sense of community when they enter my door. Helping each other, and looking out for our classmates can make for a very productive school year. Here are some snapshots from this past week as we are all getting to know each other in different ways. I can’t wait to watch all of my students grow, learn and develop this upcoming school year, and I’d say we are off to a great start!
