Math About Me

Another great start to a school year is in the books! Students spent the first three days getting to know each other and their new classroom. They did so many activities designed around class building and team building.

One particular activity the students did was describe themselves in terms of numbers. The students created a “Math About Me” page to go in the front of their math binders. This activity helped students learn about each other, but it also forced the students to think outside of the box. They came up with many different ways to represent themselves, using numbers and simple expressions. 

What I particularly loved about this activity was the creativity with numbers and the various ways that students interpreted the activity.
