Today was the first of many firsts to come. The kids got to go to an assembly for the first time in TWO YEARS! The music department wrote a grant for $150,000 to be spread out over the course of seven years and we are now able to put it to use. We were delighted to welcome "Mr. Steve" Campbell of Dancing Drum to each of our six elementary buildings.
Goodrich had their turn today with seven mini assemblies, one for each grade level, and the kids had a blast! Mr. Steve brought three different instruments for the kids to explore and play. He had big drums, woodblocks and shakers. The kids each got to take turns playing and the coolest part is they all got to play at the same time!
The energy was high and the enthusiasm from the kids and the adults was incredible to witness. We were so grateful to have had this opportunity to bring this wondeful presenter to our schools and we can't wait until he can come again.
