Let's Move!

Movement is so important in the classroom. Movement breaks help all students to let out any pent-up energy and get refocused for the rest of the day. One of my favorite types of movement breaks is yoga. Not only does it get the kids up and moving but it also helps them with their overall mindfulness. Kids just like adults function better when they have balance in their day.

So when one of your students asks to lead everyone in a yoga session of course you say yes! I was so excited for my student to take on the challenge of leading everyone through yoga with some yoga poses and breathing. The students all were so respectful and engaged. I believe even more so because it was one of their peers taking charge. As a result, more students wanted to lead yoga breaks in the class. This ended up becoming a great class builder for all of us!
