Jump Rope Club!

The Jump Rope Club is officially underway!  This was something I started 2 years ago and it has officially become a Goodrich Tradition.  The moment the students saw me get out jump ropes, they started asking, "When are we doing the minute challenges?!"  They were so excited!

For our warm up each day during the volleyball unit, we use our jump ropes.  The students have the opportunity to join a jump rope club, but here are the ground rules:
  1. You have to join the clubs in order, i.e. 1-Minute, then 2-Minute, then 3-Minute.
  2. You can only join one club a day.
  3. You only get one chance a day.
  4. If you make it the ENTIRE time frame (not a second short), you get to autograph the posters hanging on the wall, and the next PE class you get to try out for the next club.
This is something I really enjoy doing with the kids.  I love hearing their goals or plans for how they are going to attack the minute(s).  And already this year I have heard many students say, "I never made it last year but I made it the first day this year!"  So proud of them!

We are only on day 3 and as you will see in the pictures we already have a few students in the 3-minute club and lots in the 1 and 2 minute clubs.  I can't wait to see how many autographs we get on the posters over the next couple weeks!
