Week Before Spring Break Survival Guide

How do you and your students stay focused when spring break is looming in the forecast?

Well, this is what we did in the Puppy Pound:

1. You treat your teaching partner to coffee and donuts because it is her birthday and we all need a little sugar and caffeine to get through an exciting week.

2.  You make your teacher happy by wearing a dog shirt.

3.  You have your students work on a challenging foldable on United States symbols during social studies.

4.  You have twin day….and why not put a dog in the picture too????

5.  You start a geometry unit and have the children explore shapes and play a Match Mine Kagan structure.

6.  You have Open House where families come in and see your SeeSaw project on the Iditarod.

7.  You have your students read their opinion stories under the document camera so everyone can see some amazing writing!

8. You do a shape hunt in the classroom.

9.  You play math games to reinforce comparisons between numbers.

10.  You do some spring cleaning…..

Finally,  you join in with the excitement of having time off to rejuvenate and come back ready to finish the school year strong.
