Lions and tigers and bears, oh my! In order to prepare for our trip to the Brookfield Zoo, we have been researching animals with the help of our 6th grade buddies the past few weeks. We began the unit by learning about different types of biomes around the world. This was extremely entertaining because we got to watch short clips of Disney movies in which various biomes are portrayed. As we watched the short clips, we realized that there were many types of animals living in different places around the world.
After discussing why some biomes contained more kinds of animals than others, we got to pick an animal to research. We then went to the library to pick a book about our animal. Our 6th grade buddies came to help us gather the information from the books we picked and help us to understand it better. Then, we began writing our research reports. We still have more work to do, but we hope we can gather some more information about our animals tomorrow at our field trip to Brookfield Zoo. We are so excited to go with our 6th grade learning buddies!
