The Season for Sharing Gratitude

First grade spent November reflecting with gratitude. We started by using our SEL time each day to focus on what gratitude means, how we can show our gratitude and how it impacts others when we do so.

Listening to stories that focus on being grateful helped give us so many examples and opportunities to turn around and look at ourselves and show what we are the most graceful for in first grade!

We started with a gratitude jar! One of the best ways to physically see what we are grateful for is to list it. We used one of our favorite First grade tools-Seesaw, and we got to work!

Then, we even involved and included our families! We went on a Gratitude Scavenger Hunt and snapped pictures around our homes to show things that we are grateful for each and every day!

We loved involving our families, our teammates and classmates to spread the warm feelings of gratitude all around us.

As we are apart this Thanksgiving break, I know we are grateful for the friendships, the students and the teachers we are able to interact with each and every day at school. When we return from Thanksgiving break we will be sure to keep the message of gratitude close in our hearts in all we do!
