Mars Madness: Our Journey to the Unknown

Our current unit in science is Geology on Mars. We have been researching what life on Mars might eventually look like. Therefore, we introduced an awesome user-friendly 3D design tool called Tinkercad. At first, I allowed students to play around with it and create anything they wanted to familiarize themselves with this tool. I also had my LRS come in and show various examples and a short tutorial on how to use the different tools on there. The kids were thrilled and came up with some cool designs of their own!

Students are now taking everything they learned about Mars and actually planning out their Martian base with their groups! Everyone in the group has a designated role to design their base. They are working together to ensure that they are including these important parts in their final product/presentations. I love seeing how hard they are working to provide the best possible Martian base design! Their excitement during science is something I look forward to and I cannot wait to print out their designs and have them show off their incredible hard work.
