Ms. Kilkenny’s class is studying TREES!. The first thing we did was learn some new vocabulary words to be able to describe Trees. Trees are not just big or small-they might be WIDE or TALL or THIN or SHORT. We used motor movements to help us remember our new vocabulary words.

This TREE is TALL
This TREE is THIN
This TREE is SHORT
We also learned about all of the different parts of the tree and had fun exploring and sorting them in the Discovery Center.
We learned about all of the creatures that make trees their homes-birds, insects and animals. We found a bird’s nest in a tree!
And we even found a paper wasp nest that we cut open and explored.
Very Cool!
The tree unit is always a fun unit of study, because of all of the different things trees do for us.
