In reading students have been working on comparing and contrasting two or more versions of the same story. We have used many different fables, fairy tales, and fractured fairy tales to do this and have also learned about the elements that make up a fairy tale.
To prepare for their upcoming reading test, students used Kami to read 2 short stories, the Ugly Duckling and the Ugly Truckling. What is great about Kami is that ALL students were able to access these grade level texts because Kami has a function where it will read the text out loud.
After reading or listening to both stories, students created a double bubble map to compare and contrast and answered a few multiple choice questions to prepare for their Standards Mastery test. I am so proud of all the hard work that students have put in during this unit!
