Picture Day and PE

Yesterday was Fall Picture Day here at Goodrich.  I tell the kids as a PE teacher, picture day isn't that important to me because I want everyone working hard while they exercise!  But as a considerate human being and as a mom, I most certainly care about it!  I also tell the kids that picture day isn't about them - its about their Mom! Or Dad, Grandma, Grandpa, etc...  We want the good picture to hang on our wall for the next year!  So they better smile pretty!  :)

With that being said, I always adjust my PE plans for picture day.  We are currently in the middle of the soccer unit, and taking the kids outside to play 4 v 4 or 5 v 5 soccer doesn't seem like the best lead up to their moment in front of the camera.  So instead, we stayed in the our air conditioned gym and did some yoga.  Obviously, there is yoga that can be very exhausting, but for us newbies, it is much more relaxing that running up and down the soccer field. 

Thanks to Cosmic Kids Yoga on YouTube, I am able to find a Yoga Video where the instructor tells a story while doing Yoga.  The kids are so engaged do such a great job following along!
