Second Grade Fun!

Second graders are having a blast so far this school year! While we are in full swing working on our academics and setting those routines, we are also continuing to get to know each other by doing class and team builders. Students LOVED our simultaneous round table activity to create team pictures. Each student started off with a line or shape and had one minute to turn that into a picture. After the one minute mark students passed their paper to the person next to them and worked for another minute on the new picture they received. This continued until the picture made it all the way around the table. After the pictures were complete each child shared their picture with their table and talked about what they were initially drawing and what the picture turned into. It was fun to see which pictures remained the same as what the initial drawer intended and the crazy things other pictures turned into! Our goal is to do this activity again later in the year writing a story rather than drawing pictures!
