Our class has begun something very exciting. We are working on becoming Math Fact Masters. This means that each student has the goal of being able to fluently multiply up to 100. This is such an important skill for 3rd graders to have before they move onto 4th grade.
Most 3rd graders don’t get excited about learning their times tables, but our class isn’t any ordinary class! Last week I unveiled the Giant Packet of 3rd Grade Math Facts. When students finish this packet and take a fluency quiz, they receive a “locker brag,” which allows them to show off to the whole school that they have worked hard and mastered their facts.
This class loves a challenge! I have been so impressed with their determination to master these multiplication facts. What really impressed me was that I had students asking me for an even more challenging packet! What a determined group of 3rd graders we have this year. Their hard work makes me very proud!
